The Responsible Business Awards 2013 of the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum were presented on the 20th of February at a press conference of the Bulgarian News Agency. The most prestigious competition for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Bulgaria was held for 11th consecutive year, and this year edition achieved a record with 70 CSR projects by 56 companies from all over the country. They competed for prizes in six categories of the business competition.
Sopharma AD has been consistently developing one of its social projects, oriented towards elderly pensioners. Of particular importance for them is the free measurement of vital health parameters such as blood pressure, pulse and respiration in pension clubs in Sofia. Since the beginning of 2014 these activities have included another Sofia district. A nurse of Sopharma AD assists for the regular measurement of blood pressure and pulse of elderly patients at the center for disabled and pensioners at Nadezhda District.
Sopharma's social activity oriented towards elderly people and children of inferior social status is being continuously developed and is extending. Women from the Pensioners' Club in qt. Nadezhda jointly with Hristo Botev - 1917 Community Centre in Sofia and with the assistance of Sopharma visited Dragan Manchov Special School in Velingrad. This visit was organized especially with the aim to deliver their presents - hand-knit clothes, Martenitsi, home-made round loaf and sweeties.
Generation Awake accepted Sopharma as their partner and adherent. “Generation Awake” - the European Commission campaign is for efficient use of natural resources. It is oriented to active people ready to change their daily habits, to make a better place of the World we are living in.
The campaign topic each year is different, which for 2014 is the better management of wastes. This is a key element to achieve the Green Economy objectives.
On 19.03.2014, the European Generic Medicines Association (EGA), whose member is BGPharmA, carried out its tenth annual Legal Affairs Forum and appealed to the EU to remove the obstacles to competition and free trade on pharmaceuticals markets by implementation of reasonable reforms regarding intellectual property rules in the pharmaceutical sector.
