We introduce you to Botazhan, one of the faces of our strategic marketing department (SMD).
Based in Almaty, the largest city in Kazakhstan, she is not only a seasoned professional with years of experience but also a mother of three – successfully balancing her personal and professional life.
Her career in the pharmaceutical industry began in 2009 after she graduated from medical university with a degree in Pharmacy. Starting as a medical representative, she quickly rose through the ranks. In 2013, Botazhan made a significant leap into marketing, taking on the role of Brand Manager and completing a second degree in Marketing. Her drive didn’t stop there – in 2017, she joined Sopharma as a Brand Manager in Kazakhstan, overseeing some of our key products.
Thanks to her dedication and professionalism, Botazhan was promoted to Group Product Manager in 2022. In April of this year, she became part of our Strategic Marketing team, where she continues to grow and develop our products. This new role allows her to enhance her professional skills and improve her English, which she frequently uses in daily communication with colleagues.

When asked what motivates her to be a part of Sopharma, Botazhan highlights the alignment between the company’s values and her own. "There is no Groundhog Day here, every day is a new experience", she says with a smile. She adds, "In seven years with the company, there hasn’t been a single day where I didn’t want to go to work".
Despite her busy schedule, Botazhan makes time for her family. She spends her free days with loved ones, enjoying trips to the mountains or the sea. Additionally, she is passionate about gardening, meditation, and yoga – activities that help her recharge and maintain balance in her life.

According to her, discipline, teamwork, and communication are essential for success. “Discipline helps us stay focused on our goals and achieve them with minimal energy and time”, she explains. "We must support our colleagues and also ask for help when needed. The formula for successful teamwork includes a readiness to help and support each other".
For our values ambassador, communication is the ability to convey information clearly and logically, which saves time and resources and makes the work process more efficient. "It's about understanding and being understood, expressing thoughts, negotiating, and achieving goals", Botazhan adds.
For her, team support is fundamental not only for achieving common goals but also for the personal growth of each team member. "When each team member strives for personal growth, they become more competent and effective, and a strong team helps everyone develop", she explains.
